Industrial visit to Sudha Dairy
The Department of Botany, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) arranged an industrial visit to Sudha Dairy in Patna on October 9, 2023, for the B.Sc Semester I students. The primary aim of this excursion was to enhance the students’ industrial and scientific knowledge.
Ms. Jaya Mala, who oversees Quality Control at Sudha Dairy, delivered an informative presentation on the Patna Dairy Project. She provided a concise explanation of milk collection, as well as the testing, manufacturing, and packaging processes. The students gained insights into the importance of upholding high-quality standards in dairy product production and the significance of maintaining a cold chain for proper product storage. The visit encompassed guided tours of various dairy units, including the ice cream, ghee, butter, milk, curd, and other sections.
A total of 43 students participated in the trip, accompanied by Dr. Pinky Prasad, the Head of the Department of Botany, and Dr. Anjana Verma, an Assistant Professor. They were joined by non-teaching staff members Aditya Kumar Roy and Shyam Babu. The trip proved to be immensely successful, providing the students with a valuable learning experience.
