Department of Commerce, Patna Women’s College, Autonomous, organised a Webinar in collaboration with Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd., Mumbai,  on the theme  ‘ Comprehending the Commodity Derivatives Market in India’, on 12th March 2024, at 9.30 am in Mother Veronica Excellence &  Innovation Centre  for the students of B.com Semester II, IV, VI. Dr. Soofia Fatima, Dean, Faculty of Commerce & Management, gave the inaugural address and welcomed the Guest speakers and officials of MCX, Mumbai on board.  Ms. Kirti Kamal, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, moderated the sessions in the Webinar. The eminent Guest Speakers were- Mr. Anish Vyas, Manager, Research & Index Administration, Multi Commodity Derivatives Exchange of India Ltd. He discussed the Global Scenario of Derivative Market, Factors of Commodity Market, Future, Call and Put Options.  Regulatory overview was also discussed along with the unique characteristics and trends shaping the commodities derivative market. The impact of agriculture on commodity market was highlighted by giving instances. Mr. Akash Borge, Executive, Financial Institutions Marketing, Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd.,   discussed about the various career opportunities in Commodity and Derivative Market. It was followed by Question – Answer Round, the queries of the students were addressed by the resource persons. It was an enriching session; the students had a great learning experience.  The session ended by concluding remarks given by CS Shweta Shah, Coordinator, B.Com.  Commerce Professional (Honours). All the teachers of the Department of Commerce participated in the Webinar.
