On the occasion of world mental health awareness month, two guest lecture were organized by Department of Psychology, Patna Women’s College on 19.05.2023 and 22.05.2023. The programme was organised in collaboration with Little Flower Degree and PG College, Uppal, Hyderabad (Affiliated to Osmania University) and Loyola College, Hyderabad.
On both days, the program was started with prayer. Then, Dr. Nupur Sinha, Head, Department of Psychology, welcomed our respected Principal Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., and other members and faculties of both colleges.
On Day 1, 19.05.2023, Mr. P. Ganesh, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, Little Flower Degree and PG College, Hyderabad, imparted lecture about what is mental health and why we celebrate this month as mental health awareness month. More importantly he talked about Key ingredients social system (KISS) like family, school, healthcare, workplace and recreational and how they play an important role. The time of the lecture was from 11.00 AM to 12.00 AM. Total number of students who attended the lecture was 55.
On Day 2, 22.05.2023, Mr. Sudeep, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, Loyola College, Hyderabad, delivered lecture on the topic, “Anxiety and its intervention”. 30 students of II year have joined the guest lecture and the session started with presentation followed by question and answer. Sir have explained about nature of anxiety and its causes as parenting style and past experiences. Sir also discussed about the different types of anxiety which now a days youth may be facing. He said that the treatment should be done by consulting professionals. The lecture started at 01.00 PM.
