On 3rd and 4th october 2023, the students of UG sem I and III Psychology Honours and MIC and GE made posters. The activity was conducted to draw and paint different aspects of mental health.
On 5th October 2023, the Department of Psychology conducted a Mandala Art workshop for students of UG sem V Psychology Honours and M.A. Applied Psychology sem III at 12.00 Noon. Ms. Manisha Kumari, Psychological Counsellor, Guidance and Counselling Centre, Department of Psychology, Patna Women’s College gave a brief description on the history and significance of this method of Art Therapy. It is significant for the students of psychology to learn about this art therapy for it is useful during counselling and therapy. It will enhance their skills in this field. The participants also tried their hands by making some drawings and analysing their drawings.
A documentary titled “A drop of sunshine” was shown to UG sem V and PG sem III, Department of Psychology on 6th October 2023. It is a documentary on a real life story where the character narrates her own story of going through the psychological disorder ‘schizophrenia’, the problems she faced and the support she received from her family. After the documentary, the audience discussed and prepared a report on it.
A Guest Leacture on Mental Health was organised by the Department for the students of both UG and PG at 10.00 AM in the B.J. Sullivan Hall, Patna Women’s College. The resource person was Ms. Priya, Clinical Psychologist, IGIMS, Patna. She elaborated on the importance of mental health and role of psychologists in maintaining and promoting mental health of all in the society. She also discussed Psychological First-Aid. In the question-answer session, students asked their doubts and Madam clarified those doubts.
T-shirt painting Competition on ‘Break the Stigma’

At 12.00 Noon, a t-shirt painting competition was organised by the Department of Psychology in the Mental Health Week. There were 12 groups. They painted t-shirts with the theme ‘Break the Stigma’, out of which the following were given positions:
First position: Aasfa Iqbal, Lavi Anand (Zoology Honours, UG, Sem 1, 2023-27)
Second position: Anjani Kumari, Bhavya Shree, Sania Hasan (Sociology, UG, Sem 5, 2021-24)
Third position: Saanvi (CEMS, Sem 1, 2023-27)
Human Chain

The students of the Department of Psychology, MSW and NSS formed a human chain inside the College on 10.10.23 from 8.45 AM to 9.30 AM. The students held the posters emphasizing the importance of mental health and Mental Health Day. October 10 is celebrated as World Mental Health Day globally.
SKIT

A skit was presented by the students of the Department of Psychology on 10.10.23 at 01.00 PM near the college ground. The Title was ‘Life is beautiful: Failure must not be fatal.’ They presented a story of a college girl who is not able to communicate her feelings to anyone. She became highly depressed because of this. Then, she was taken to a therapist by one of her friends. This skit highlighted the importance of reaching out to the right person at the right time.
