ZOOLOGY ALUMNI MEET, 2024
The departmental ALUMNI MEET, 2024 was organised by the Department of Zoology, Patna Women’s College, Autonomous, Patna University, on October 17, 2024. The theme of the meet was ‘Celebrating the Legacy of Excellence’ and the dress code was pink and white for the alumni.
The program began with the lighting of the lamp followed by a soulful welcome song presented by the students.
Dr. Shobha Shrivastava, Dean, Faculty of Science and Head, Department of the Zoology, PWC warmly welcomed and addressed the Alumni. She said that the alumni are the true ambassadors of this institution. Their achievements stand as a testament to the education and values instilled in them here.
A short video of Departmental Profile and achievements was shown by Dr Sapna Kumari, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology. A PPT presentation was also shown to the Alumni along with the detailed description of the upcoming Techno Cultural fest – VIRASAT, 2024 to be held from 25th to 27th October, 2024 in the College.
The celebration shined with the dance and song performances by the students of UG and PG. The alumni also showcased their talents. The fun game session including games like, guess the song by emoji, snap and clap, guess the hook step was enjoyed by all. The most awaited Ramp Walk and Interaction Session decided the titles of the day. Miss Alumni was Ms. Sunita Travasso of UG, 1990-93 batch, Miss Entertainer was Ms. Binita Srivastava of UG, 1990-93 batch and Miss photogenic was Ms. Shrestha of 2022-24 batch. A special gift hamper was also given to Ms. Ujjwala Patwardhan of UG, 1990-93 batch. The mementos of Madhubani paintings were prepared by Amisha Kumari, Sargam Verma, Saba Amrin, and Shailja Gautam, students of the Dept. of Zoology, PWC.
The esteemed 07 alumni of the third batch (1990-93) of Under Graduate Programme of Zoology, Patna Women’s College were very nostalgic and overjoyed to reunite with their batchmates after 31 long years. They were forever grateful for organising this Alumni Meet and appreciated the entire event with the best wishes to the present students for their future endeavours. They also visited their classrooms, laboratories and cherishing their memories.
The programme was moderated by Jyoti Kumari and Muskan Bharti, the Vote of Thanks was proposed by Alishba Shaheen, students of Department of Zoology. The programme was partially sponsored by the family of a student, Aishwarya Saluja, Dept of Zoology, PWC.
The entire event was conducted and supervised by Dr. Shobha Shrivastava, Head, Department of Zoology along with Dr. Sapna Kumari, Dr. Neetu, and Mr. Rajeev Ranjan, Assistant Professors, and Dennis, support staff of the Department of Zoology. The programme was resounding success with smiles on every face. It was a delightful and memorable evening.
